Damaturu, Yobe State | 30 October 2025 — GeoScan Technology Limited (GTL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Yobe Mining Development Company Limited (YMDCL) to apply decision intelligence from prospect to project across priority minerals in Yobe State. The agreement was concluded during the Yobe Mining Stakeholders’ Forum in Damaturu on 30 October, where the State formalised MoUs with select partners to catalyse exploration, value addition, and responsible development in line with its industrial ambitions.

The collaboration between GTL and YMDCL establishes a structured pathway from early data gathering to investor-ready opportunities. It focuses on defining exploration corridors, ranking prospects, and preparing credible project briefs that align with State policy and national regulatory frameworks. The wider forum highlighted Yobe’s intent to diversify its economy through mining, with government affirming the State’s endowments and setting out themes such as mineral mapping, policy alignment, investor engagement, social safeguards, and regulatory compliance as the building blocks of a sustainable sector.

Speaking on the partnership, Damiete Amachree, Managing Director, GeoScan Technology Limited, said the agreement gives Yobe a clear engine for technical delivery and investment preparation so the State can move with clarity and reduce risk as it brings projects to market.
